Carmen Mills, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025.

Born on December 19, 1937, in Quintana, Spain, to Pedro Fernandez and Gregoria Ruiz, Carmen moved to the United States in February 1962 with her former husband, Ronald Mills. She proudly became a U.S. citizen on July 2, 1968.

Carmen dedicated many years to serving others in Springfield, Missouri, working as a Certified Nurse Assistant at St. John's Hospital. Her compassion, strength, and unwavering care touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.

A devout member of the Catholic Church, Carmen's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her son, Ricardo Mills, and her granddaughter, Gabrielle Mills, along with all who knew and loved her.

Per Carmen's wishes, there will be no formal service. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to support the family in whatever way they feel called.

Carmen's kindness, resilience, and love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
