A Celebration of Life for Carl Thomas (Tom) Holt will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 20 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri with Rev. Bryan South officiating. Burial will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 9:00am until time of the service. Tom was born on July 3, 1931 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Charles Thomas and Leona Holt. He went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2015 in Jasper, Texas. Tom graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1949 and married Retha June Wade on May 26, 1950. He served in the US Air Force from December 1951 to December 1955. Tom and Retha moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1955 and attended Southwest Missouri State University and graduated with a degree in Business. He continued his education at Drury College, where he received a Master's of Business Administration. Tom was employed at Zenith Radio Corporation until his retirement in 1984. He loved spending time with his family, serving in church, playing golf and working in his yard. Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, Retha Holt. One son, Kent and his wife Cheryl of Muskogee, Oklahoma. One daughter, Denise and her husband Bryan South of Jasper, Texas. One sister, Mary Lou Miller of West Plains, Missouri. Four grandsons, Benjamin South of Jasper, Texas, Isaac Holt of Greenville, South Carolina, Aaron Holt of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Zachary South of Jasper, Texas and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernard Holt, Leonard Holt, Gene Holt, sisters, Louise Holt, Lucille Breedlove, and Helen Miller.
