Carl Meier, 97, Springfield, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Springfield Villa.  He was born March 28, 1925 in Chestnut Ridge, Missouri, the son of Emil and Helen Gill Meier.

He was married to Bessie Gonce for 72 years.  Carl was saved at an early age and lived a Godly Christian life.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Carl was a longtime employee of the Springfield Public School system.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Keltner and brothers, James and Virgil Meier.

Carl is survived by his wife, Bessie; son, Glen Ray Meier; sister, Esther Maples; sister-in-law and her husband, Cheryl and Bob Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in Schupbach Cemetery, Spokane, Missouri, with the Reverend Allen Maples officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
