Obituary

Mrs. Pauline Thompson, 90, passed away on January 18 , 2019 at the Ozark Nursing & Care Center in Ozark, MO.  Clara Pauline Thompson was born on September 29, 1928 in Stratton, Colorado.  She was the second of six children born to Bruce D and Amanda Fisher Davis, who preceded her in death.  She moved to Missouri with her family and graduated from Birch Tree High School and then attended SMS (now MSU).  She earned a teaching certificate and taught school until she married. After the death of her husband, she spent the next several years raising her 3 children. After her children were older she updated her education at SMS earning a BS degree. Upon graduating she became a teacher at Wheatland, MO teaching Library Science and Computers for many years.

Pauline was married to Harry Lee Thompson on December 24, 1947 at the home of her parents in Birch Tree, MO.  Three children were born to this union, Harold Lee, Robert Bruce and Beverly Louise Thompson.   Harry preceded her in death in February 26, 1962.  Pauline was a 21-year cancer survivor.  She was a strong, adventurous woman who liked to read, travel, be outdoors and spend time watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at school functions & sporting events.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings-John, Helen, and Ray.  She is survived by her 3 children - Harold (Janet) Thompson of Springfield, Robert Thompson of Strafford and Beverly Thompson of Highlandville, 8 grandchildren – Michelle (David) Johnson of Fair Grove, Michael (Eva) Thompson of Elkhorn, NE, Gina Thompson of Springfield, Ryan (Heather) Thompson of Lee's Summit, and Brett (Cindy) Thompson of Lebanon, Tessie Cobb of Fair Grove, Ashley (Jason) Fuller of Fair Grove and Eli (Jessica) Cobb of Las Vegas NV.  Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and two sisters- Elsie Stephens of Greenfield and Heleane Davis of El Dorado Springs.

No local services are planned.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.
