Obituary

Clarence Stanley (Stan) Barlow passed away on Wednesday August 17th in Zion, Illinois after a long and determined battle with cancer. Stan was born on November 12, 1942 to Ruby Jane Forbes and Clarence Sylvester Barlow at home in Vera, Oklahoma. Stan grew up in the Collinsville, Oklahoma area. Stan was a graduate of Collinsville High School and later Oklahoma State University. Stan and his family have resided in Springfield, Missouri since July of 1979. Stan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Freida; his brother, Larry Barlow and wife Louise, of Sherwood, Arkansas; two daughters, Janice Nance of Nixa, Missouri and Michelle and husband John McGee III, of Keller, Texas; four grandchildren Jared Nance, Tyler Nance, Olivia McGee and John McGee IV; he is also survived by his special nephew and niece, Chris Barlow and Kim Gates and other close family. Stan retired from the USDA Federal Milk Market Administrators over 42 years of service; he enjoyed spending time with his family; playing with his grandchildren, supporting the MSU Bears, and running. He ran his last half-marathon race in December 2009. Stan was blessed to have family and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.
