IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Butch
Hulett
May 1, 1947 – August 13, 2022
Henry Jackson "Butch" Hulett died after a brief illness on August 13, 2022 in Neosho, MO. Born May 1, 1947 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the oldest son of Captain (US Army) Henry J. and Grace J. Hulett. A graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, GA, the University of Georgia and the University of Delaware, he served with the 9 th Infantry Division, United States Army, in Viet Nam as a radio-telephone operator and forward observer, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. After being discharged from the Army in 1970, he worked as a photojournalist and photographer, as a freelance ceramic artist, and taught college courses in photography, ceramics and computer science in Delaware and Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Martha "Marty" Mincey of Springfield; brother and sister-in-law Keith "Skip" Hulett (Dana Walker) of Athens, GA and three nieces and their husbands, Koren (Jeff) Raymond, Kelley (Brin) VandenBerg and Mary Grace Hulett (David Brown), all of Athens, GA.
When neither duty nor work called him, Butch often preferred to spend his time, along with anyone else he could persuade to join him, like his wife or brother, in the American Southwest where he spent several joyful years as a young Army brat, and whose beautiful landscapes and Native American culture continued to hold him throughout his long and interesting life.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating money or time to help military veterans, locally or nationally, wherever you feel there's a need.
