Bruce E. Young, pen name Bryce Yarborough and KC Springfield, passed away March 26, 2009, in Kansas City, Mo., after a short illness from liver failure. Bruce was born on February, 5, 1953, in St Joseph, Mo. to Roy and Corrine Young, the middle child of 3 children. Bruce graduated from Glendale High School in 1971 then graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. Some of his jobs included working for the Denver Post in Colorado, reporter and news writer in Glenwood Springs, Colo. journalist/news reporter for a World Cruise ship, and writing brochures and newsletters for hospitals in Kansas City, Mo. Bruce was a writer and publish and autobiography of his travels. Close Calls. He also wrote Poetry, screen plays, music, and is a member of the IFC, Independent Filmmaker Coalition of Kansas City. Bruce was a co-writer of a short film, "The Squeeze" for Fantasy Filmmaker Project. He loved to play and sing with his guitar. He was a world traveler and loved to travel. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Corrine B. Young. He is survived by his father; Roy T. Young; brother, Stephen R. Young and wife Pamela, Debbie Tolliver and husband, Steve; nephews, Steve Young and wife Laura, Eric Tolliver, and Matt Tolliver; Niece Sara Young, and his significant other, Elayne Durborow. No services are planned at his request and he has been cremated. Bruce had a strong love of life and enjoyed every moment. He always lived life to the fullest. Bruce's message to everyone is "Live life to the Fullest....Cheers!" In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to he American Liver Foundation.
