Brice William Beavers, age 82, passed from this life December 9, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO, surrounded by his loving family. Brice was born June 7, 1933 in Harrison, AR, the son of Arthur and Emma Beavers, and had seven brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Frankie; son, Terry Beavers and his wife Connie; daughter, Jana Bachus and her husband Rich, all of Springfield, MO; three granddaughters, Rachel (Bachus) Heinz and husband Jordan, Springfield, Kim Beavers, Los Angeles, CA, Janelle (Bachus) Kelly and husband Bobby, Springfield; two grandsons, Andy Beavers and Trevor Bachus, both of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Harper Heinz of Springfield; two sisters, Ola Haddican of LaCenter, WA and Sue Russell of Lee's Summit, MO; one brother, Jerry Beavers of Austin, TX; one sister-in-law, Aena Mae Beavers of Manhattan, KS; and many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Clifton and Carl, two sisters Mary Lea Jacks and infant sister Shirley Arlene. Brice was a graduate of Valley Springs High School, Valley Springs, AR, class of 1953. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea where he was a senior message center clerk at the 433th Battalion in Inchon. After returning home he and Frankie Taylor were married on June 12, 1955 and moved to Fayetteville, AR where Brice attended the University of Arkansas. Brice and Frankie later moved to Springfield, MO where Brice joined Sears as salesman and buyer for the hardware department. He was an accomplished salesman in the hardware industry. Later he and Frankie owned and operated Coast-to-Coast Hardware for over 17 years. After closing the store due to health problems, Brice worked for Pinegar Chevrolet and was inducted into the Honor Club for excelling in Chevrolet sales. After retiring in 1995 he drove the courtesy van for Youngblood Motors and Central Dodge. He loved spending time with his family and often said that he was so blessed with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who busted his buttons with pride and joy. Brice loved to golf, garden, landscape, was an avid Lady Bear Fan, and a car enthusiast, enjoying both classic and current models. Brice was a member of University Heights Baptist Church and was active in the Searchers Sunday school class. Brice also had served on the Board of Trustees at University Heights Baptist Church. He looked forward to hearing Pastor Dan Masters every Sunday at church services while at Glendale Gardens. Most importantly, Brice is remembered as a faithful servant of God, and he was very respected and beloved by his family and friends. The family would like to especially thank the employees at Glendale Gardens for their exceptional care of Brice for the past two years while he was a resident. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patrick MacMillan and Steve Barnes, NP. Brice made many friends while he was a resident of the facility. His charm, spunk, and loving nature were apparent even in his hardest days of health struggles. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 with visitation immediately following at University Heights Baptist Church located at 1010 S. National, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Dr. Michael Olmsted and Dr. Daniel Chisholm will officiate. A private family burial will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
