Bonnie Jo Wood, age 84, died on October 13, 2014, after a sudden illness. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 10, 1930, to Kenneth L. and Naomi Schwartz. In 1936 the family moved to Wright County, Missouri, near Hartville, where Bonnie attended school, graduating from Hartville High School in 1948. Bonnie was married to Joseph Ira Wood on October 16, 1950, and to this union was born one son, Kenneth Paul. Bonnie worked for Laclede Electric Cooperative in Hartville for over 25 years, until her retirement when she and Joe moved to Springfield. Bonnie loved working in her garden and yard and was always giving to others. She never met a stranger and had many treasured friends. She will be missed by all. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, Kenneth and Naomi Schwartz; her twin sister, Betty Hembree; and her brother, Dale Schwartz. She is survived by her son, Kenneth, of Springfield, her beloved dog, Oreo, several nieces, nephews, and close friends, Sherry Pryor and Patricia Webb, as well as a host of friends and neighbors. Family, friends and neighbors may visit Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home after 12 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Graveside service and burial will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Little Creek Cemetery, Hartville, Missouri.
