Bonnie Jean Edgar of Springfield, Missouri, passed into her Lord's presence and was reunited in glory with her husband, daughter, and others on the 18th day of February, 2013. Bonnie was born April 15, 1928, to Clarence and Arple Turner of Steelville, Missouri. She graduated from Steelville High School in 1946. Bonnie was united in marriage to Harold William Edgar on Oct. 21, 1945. They lived in Sullivan, Missouri, where they raised six children together until Harold's death in 1972. The Edgars were faithful members of Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan for many years. While continuing to raise her family, she earned her LPN in Rolla, Missouri, in 1974 before beginning her nursing career in Springfield, Missouri, with Dr. Robert Zahn, pediatrician; Orthopedic Associates, Mercy Medical Center; and Dr. Joseph Wammack, DDS. Bonnie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Springfield where she served in many capacities. From 1983-1985 she enjoyed her role as a "dorm mom" for Beasley Hall at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. Bonnie was preceded in death and greeted in glory by her husband, Harold William Edgar; her parents, Clarence and Arple Turner; one sister, Bettye Jo Walker; and one daughter Donna Elizabeth DeLaittre. Bonnie is survived by her children Bill Edgar and Janice of Springfield, Missouri; Debby Edgar of Springfield, Missouri; Dennea Edgar of Houston, Texas; Ben Edgar and Terri of Billings, Missouri; and Brad Edgar and Annet of Independence, Missouri. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Jeff Border and Renee of Austin Texas; Charlotte Winfrey and Derek, and Luis Moctezuma of Houston, Texas; Emily Edgar and Julien Bernard of New York City, New York; Melanie Edgar, Stacie Edgar, Nathan Edgar, and Ana Moctezuma of Springfield, Missouri; Jacob Edgar of Billings, Missouri; and Kage Edgar, Turner Edgar, Dean Edgar, and Zoe Edgar of Independence, Missouri, in addition to 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Sydney Border, Jordan Cheadle, and Reid William Edgar. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Beulah Roper and Bonnie Lea (Pete) of Steelville, Missouri, and Alma Edgar, of St. James, Missouri. Funeral services under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, at First Baptist Church of Springfield, Missouri. A second memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at First Baptist Church of Steelville, Missouri, with graveside services at Steelville Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, Springfield, Missouri.
