Bonnie Copelin, of Nixa, Missouri, went home to be with Jesus on September 2, 2026, and was reunited with the family and friends who had gone before her.

Bonnie was an incredible woman whose life was marked by love, faith, family, strength, and perseverance. She was born November 6, 1934, in Ocie, Missouri, during the heart of the Great Depression, to Charlie and Dolly Myers. One of nine children, Bonnie grew up understanding the importance of hard work, caring for others, and standing strong through life's challenges.

Bonnie married the love of her life, Leroy Copelin, who preceded her in death in 2016. Together, they built a life centered around family, creating memories and a legacy of love that will continue for generations.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Randy Murray of Springfield, Missouri; her son, Dan Copelin of Springfield, Missouri; her grandson, Chris Murray of Nixa, Missouri; her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Wes and Kala Copelin of Clarksville, Tennessee; and her granddaughter, Danielle Copelin of Springfield, Missouri.

Bonnie was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Veda Copelin, Edie Copelin, Talon Murray, Ben Murray, Adia Murray, Emory Murray, Gabby Copelin and Adie Copelin. They were a source of great joy to her and an important part of the family she loved so dearly.

Bonnie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a woman of faith. Her family meant the world to her, and the love, strength, and values she gave them will continue to live on in the lives of those she leaves behind.

In her final days, Bonnie knew where she was going. She looked forward with faith to leaving behind a body that had known pain and suffering and receiving the new, glorified body promised to those who belong to Christ. She also looked forward to being reunited with her beloved Leroy and her daughter-in-law, Lynn, and most of all, to being at home with Jesus.

A graveside service celebrating Bonnie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 16, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N National Ave, Springfield, with the service conducted by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield.

Bonnie will be deeply missed, but her family grieves with hope. They take comfort in knowing that her suffering is over, her faith has become sight, and she is now at home with her Lord and Savior, reunited with those she loved who went before her.
