Bobbie Sue Nelson, age 83 of Springfield, MO passed away in her home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 4:30 PM surrounded by her loving family.

Bobbie was born in Urbana, MO but had been a resident of Springfield since a young girl. Bobbie was an amazing wife and mother and the best grandmother any grandchild could hope for.  Her grandchildren were her proudest accomplishment and her favorite topic of conversation.  She became affectionately known as "Baba" to everyone after her granddaughter, Madeline, gave her that label.

Bobbie was a member of the 1952 Central High School graduating class and was active for many years on the reunion committee staying in close contact with many of her fellow graduates. She also enjoyed volunteering with friends at the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield.

Bobbie was preceded in death by parents William E. Carter, Sr. and Marjorie Carter (Miller).  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tony Nelson; son, Mark Nelson and his wife Lori (Springfield) and their daughter, Madeline; daughter, Paula Harvey (Springfield) and her son, Jake Harvey (Ft. Collins, CO); sister, Rhoda Cornelison (Santa Ana, CA); brother, William Carter, Jr. and his wife, Debbie (Springfield); nephews and cousins.

The family would like to share their extreme appreciation for the amazing care given by Seasons Hospice of Springfield.
