Obituary

Bobbi Rue Wixson, 68, born on August 5, 1957, passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a three-year battle with cancer.

Bobbi was a Texas native, born in San Angelo. When she was in 4th grade, she moved to Missouri with her family and later graduated from Rolla High School. In 1978, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she completed her undergraduate education and formed many lifelong friendships. In 1988, she moved to Southwest Missouri to be closer to her family. For many years, she owned Hazel’s Flowers on the Square in Ozark, where she became known for her creativity, hard work, and relationships she built with countless customers and friends. After selling her business, she continued working in the floral industry and later taught floral design at Missouri State University.

Bobbi was actively involved in the Ozark Jaycees, Ozark Chamber of Commerce, and the Utopia Club. She especially enjoyed helping establish the community’s annual Festival of Lights through her volunteer work with the Ozark Park Board. She loved meeting new people and had a natural gift for making everyone feel welcome. A devoted dog lover, she shared her life with many beloved canine companions over the years. Bobbi was also a gifted storyteller whose quick wit and sharp sense of humor brought laughter and energy wherever she went. Fiercely independent and full of life, she lived with determination, warmth, and an unmistakable spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Bobbi is preceded in death by her mother, La Rue Wixson. She is survived by her father, Dr. Bobby Wixson; her sister, Linda Tucker (Joseph Tucker); her nieces, Kristin Fillingham (Joshua Fillingham) and Lindsay Todd (Garon Todd); and her four great-nephews, Isaac Fillingham, Samuel Fillingham, Soren Todd, and Anderson Todd.

Bobbi will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her life.

In Bobbi's memory, she asked that you send flowers, support your local florist, and take a moment to brighten someone’s day in her memory. The family and Bobbi have a special friend at Price Cutter Floral in Nixa and they will be using them if you would like to do the same.
