Young men can change the world (Jaycees). Bob Scheid peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born to Art and Dale Scheid in Springfield , MO in 1945. Starting at Central High School and throughout his life he became a leader to make the world a better place. Early in his business career he joined the Springfield Jaycees and in 1976 he led the local chapter to the best chapter in the country. Along with others he was instrumental in founding Legal Aid in Southwest Missouri.

In 1979 he married Sally (Sarah) Scheid of St. Louis. They had one daughter, Jennifer, the apple of his eye. That same year he brought his passions to Lakes Country Rehabilitation Center. Over the years he led a staff who helped thousands of people with disabilities find jobs and improve their daily lives. He guided the formation of The Carol Jones Recovery Center for Women to help women with substance abuse problems and their children escape the stigma and begin recovery.

Retirement found Bob still contributing and changing the world. Besides an active practice consulting with area nonprofits, he served several terms on the City of Springfield Personnel Board, the Airport Board, Ozarks Transportation Board and many others.

Survivors include his wife Sally and daughter Jennifer, niece and nephew Mike and Venecia Scheid of Springfield, cousin Reta Steele Dyson of Oseola and brother-in-law Dave Cos and wife Annie of Madison, WI,

His smile and sense of humor touched many people in his life. He will be dearly missed, but celebrated by all who knew him.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. officiated by Celebrant Fr. Kenneth Chumbley, assisted by Fr. Jonathan Frazier at Christ Episcopal Church, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

There is light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an oncoming train!
