Billy Lee Plaster, 94, Springfield, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 10, 1931 in his home in Turners, Missouri, the son of Fred Elbert Plaster and Ollie Mae (Daniels) Plaster. His parents had three boys and four girls.

Billy worked for Custom Trailers before he opened Hillbilly Western Store and Billy Boy Saddlery. Billy met Naomi Wright and they were united in marriage in Harrison, Arkansas on May 26, 1950.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi; and two sisters, Peggy Miller and Patsy Todd.

Billy is survived by a son, Danny Lee Plaster and his wife, Diana, Galena; daughter, Jackie Key and her husband, David, Maryville, MO; son, Darrel Lyn Plaster, Oldfield, MO; son, Dewayne Leon Plaster and his wife, Dionne, Pittsburg, MO; siblings, James and Ray Plaster, Shirley Potter and Joyce Salkil; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Turner Cemetery, Greene County, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billy’s name to Turner Cemetery, PO Box 221, Turners, MO 65765.
