Billy George "Bill" Moon, 67, of Springfield, MO passed away May 11, 2015 in Mercy Hospital. Bill was born March 7, 1948 in Springfield, the son of George Washington and Norma Lee (Broshears) Moon. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1966, where he lettered in football all four years. He attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. His first job out of college was with Commerce Bank. Several years later he purchased Phase III Lounge and operated it for several years. He moved to Kansas City in the mid 1970's and was the owner/operator of Moon Trailer Sales, Inc. for over 30 years. He retired back to the Springfield area in 2010. Bill was an avid golfer his entire life and always loved gatherings with old friends. Bill is survived by his cousin Howard (Jeannie) Cotner and Howard's extended family and longtime friends, Bobby Allison and John Wyrsch. Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel from 3:30 to 4:00 pm. Memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home. Following the service, a memorial celebration of Bill's life will be held at Phase III South now doing business as Uncle Bentley's. Interment will be Monday, May 18, 2015 at 3:00 pm in Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Help Give Hope, 2733 E. Battlefield, Suite 332, Springfield, MO 65804.
