Billy Joe Brock, age 91 of Springfield, Missouri, went to meet his Heavenly Father at 9:00 a.m. on December 2, 2020.

Billy is survived by his sister-in-law Wilma Hilton, several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Korea Era veteran, he was preceded in death by his wife Wilda of 62 years, son Greg Brock, and his parents William and Sally Brock. He was the last living child of 11 brothers and sisters.

Billy Brock and Wilda Hilton were married on February 3, 1951, at Second Baptist Church by Pastor Earl French.  They were blessed with one son Gregory who was the light of their lives.

A deacon at Second Baptist Church for over 50 years, Billy also enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. A cheerful, kind man, Billy took pleasure in photography, music, and visiting with family and friends.  An employee of Valley Paint for 50 years, he continued working part-time long after retirement age.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on East Seminole.  Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield.
