Billie Diane Taylor, 69, of Springfield, MO passed away March 21, 2017 at Magnolia Square.
She was born June 29, 1947 in Lockwood, MO the daughter of William Forrest and Naomi Ailene (Tindill) Taylor. She was saved and baptized at the age of 9 on March 25, 1956 in Lockwood Baptist Church. Billie was raised in Willard, MO and lived there until 1991. She was a Willard High School graduate and attended Drury College.
Billie married her husband John Everett Taylor III April 24, 1965 at Community Baptist Church in Willard. She and her husband were involved in residential home building and real estate development and developed 14 subdivisions in the Willard and Springfield area since 1969.
Billie was a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader. Billie and John formed the 4H Club in the Willard area. They were involved in the local arthritis foundation as well. She was an avid reader, loved history and also loved to crochet. Billie was truly dedicated to her family and loved her family pets.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and one sister.
Billie is survived by her husband, John Everett Taylor III; daughters Tracy (Kelly) York, Springfield, MO, Tammy (David) Calhoun, Pleasant Hope, MO, Teresa (Shannon) Johnson, Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Kendall York, Colton (Heather) and Carson Calhoun, Makenzie and Cole Johnson, and one great-grandchild Zoe Calhoun; sister Naomi "Charlene" (Allan) Short, Republic, MO.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Long officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Online condolences may be made at www.gormanscharpf.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
