Joanne Greene, 88, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021. She was the second of five daughters born to William and Olive Burdette. She grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield Senior High School (now Central) in 1951. Upon graduation, she attended SMSU (now MSU) where she met Joe, fell in love, and married. To this union, two children were born, son Joey and daughter Julie.

Joanne was a great cook, seamstress, wife, and mother; following the birth of her granddaughters she became the best grandmother. She enjoyed being with close friends called the "Ozark Bunch", attending church at Westminster Presbyterian, and volunteering. She also enjoyed traveling, especially with Joe and her granddaughters. Her family was the center of her life.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Joe Greene; daughter, Julie Greene; son, Joe Greene and Susan; her three granddaughters: Caitlyn Greene, Bailey Greene, Allyson Greene and their mother Julie Nicholson; her niece, Debbie Royer; her cousins, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to all the friends and family that have helped us in the past and are here for us now in these trying times. The Memorial Service will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 5:00pm with the Rev. Dr. Micki Pulleyking officiating. You may offer your condolences to the family after the service. Masks will be required. The interment of ashes will be at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
