Bill Larry DeMille, age 64, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Mercy Hospital. He was born August 22, 1949 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Ernest and Martha DeMille. He grew up and attended school in Phoenix. After graduating from Washington High School he joined the US Marine Corps where he served honorably in Vietnam. On February 14, 1982 he married Phyllis Scudder. After the Marines he eventually moved to Springfield where he was employed at Litton Industries. He was a member of BPOE #409 and attended South Haven Baptist Church when the health of he and his wife permitted. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by two brothers, Ernest DeMille of Phoenix, AZ and Roy DeMille of Fallbrook, CA; one sister, Esther Tenison of Phoenix, AZ; one step-son, John Michael Taylor of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Spring Deming of Phoenix, AZ; four granddaughters; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Mark Killingsworth officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm to 1:30pm Wednesday in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
