Beverly (Parker) Davis

Beverly Davis, age 100, passed away December 11, 2022, at the Maples Health and Rehabilitation. She was born April 17, 1922, in Kansas City, MO, to Mary L. (Payne) Parker and Earnest R. Parker.  She graduated from Central High School in Springfield.

Beverly volunteered for World War II and served in the Coast Guard as a SPAR for three years. She married Paul F. Davis in 1958 and joined him in the Davis Candy Co.  They moved to Indian Point in 1970 where Paul made candy for Silver Dollar City and they later had shops on 76 Highway and in Mutton Hollow.  On Sunday there was a sign on their door, "Gone to Church".

Paul died in 1987 and Beverly remained in their home providing active support to Branson Christian Church and volunteering in the local food pantry, church thrift shop, and at Habitat for Humanity. She moved to Springfield in 2012 where she rejoined South Street Christian Church.

Beverly was preceded by Paul, her parents, brother Robert Parker, and sister Ruthanne Myers. She is survived by brother John Parker (Judy), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, as well as many loyal and dear friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ovais Zubair, The Maples, and Seasons and Integrity Hospices for their loving care.

Services will be on December 28, 2022, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, visitation at 12:30 p.m., services at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial in Maple Park Cemetery.
