Beverly Marie Cox, resident of Republic, MO, passed away on May 5, 2018 in her home at the age of 69 years.  She fought a hard battle with both pulmonary fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis for nearly a decade.  She also suffered from severe scoliosis her whole life, yet she overcame all this to lead a full and joy filled life.  She lived to serve and love others.

Bev will forever be remembered as a faithful, loving wife to John of 50 years, mother to Chris, Terri, Jennifer and Amy, proud grandmother to Mikel, Ryan, Devin, Mikayla, Makenzie, Lindsey, Brooke, Hallie, Emma and Collin.

Bev was born to Lloyd and Velma Stearns on February 11, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  She is one of six of the Stearns' children.  She spent the majority of her life in Springfield, MO after her father relocated them to attend Baptist Bible College.  She grew up attending Cherry Street Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age.  She remained faithful to her Lord until she drew her last breath.

A celebration of Bev's life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO, with the Reverend Bill Levergood officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Private family burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, MO.  Memorial donations in memory of Bev Cox can be made in lieu of flowers to John Cox, 1118 East Ritter, Republic, MO 65738 to help with funeral expenses.
