Betty June Wester, age 80, died in Springfield, MO., on May 13, 2013. She was born June 11, 1932, in Day, MO., to Jeff Leo and Wilmetta Linebaugh. Betty graduated from Springfield High School in 1950. She married Ralph E. Myers in 1954, and they had 2 children in August, 1955. Ralph was killed in 1957 while serving in Korea. Betty remarried in 1961 to Clay Edward Wester, and the couple relocated to St. Louis in 1963, moved to Jefferson City in 1979, and retired in 1994 to return to Springfield, where they lived until Clay's death in January, 2003. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, her only brother, James; a sister, Lorna Joan; and a dearly loved grandson, Jeffrey Michael Wester. She is survived by two sisters, Jean Crane and Mary Sue Hunt; her son, Michael Wester of Springfield; daughter, Laura Pace and husband Stanley of Nixa; grandsons, Jordan Wester; and Michael Pace and wife Sierra; granddaughter, Jessica Burdick and husband Drew; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Hudson Burdick; and many dear nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home May 16, 2013, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and funeral at noon. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Betty's life has ended, but her love and kindness will be remembered forever by those who had the privilege to share her life. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Jeff Wester Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Kickapoo High School, Springfield Public Schools.
