Betty Jane Truskowski Todd, 90, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, in Mark Twain Nursing Home, St. Louis, Mo. She was born November 14, 1922, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of the late William P. and Dora (Dearen) Whitlock. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1942, to Casimir Truskowski. To this union was born a daughter, Cassandra Truskowski Inskeep, and a son, Michael W. Truskowski. Following Cass's death in 1967 she was united in marriage on September 13, 1971 to Vann G. Todd who died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Lida Quinn, Francis Witherspoon, and Dora McCormick Bergstrom; a brother, W.P. Whitlock.; and a daughter, Cassandra "Cassie" Inskeep. Betty loved her family and friends. She especially enjoyed fishing at Roaring River and the area lakes. She was also a wonderful cook. From 1956 to 1980 she worked as a lab technician at the Missouri Chest Research Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Mo. She was a member of Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church, Springfield, and a member of the O.E.S., Mt. Vernon and Republic. She and her husband, Vann, were very involved in the Pearl Harbor Survivors group and the Shriner's organization for many years. She is survived by her son, Michael Truskowski, and his wife, Anne, St. Louis; two grandsons, Geoff Truskowski, and his wife, Laura; Chris Truskowski; a granddaughter, Auburn Truskowski, all of St. Louis, as well as many friends. Visitation will be held between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church, immediately followed by the funeral at 1:00 p.m. The family requests memorial donations be made to Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church, 722 West Atlantic Street, Springfield, MO 65803
