Betty Powell, 88, of Springfield, passed away on August 10, 2023 in Springfield. She was born on October 22, 1934 in Carthage to James M. and Hazel (Owens) Stow.

Betty retired from Sears after 35 years. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member at First Baptist Church of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris Powell; brother, James E. Stow and sister, Rose Carolyn (Stow) Doran.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Frances Karpiak (Michael) of Havertown, PA; granddaughter, Ashley Jochum (Seth) of Havertown, PA; brother, John Stow (Annalea) of Wentworth, MO and sisters Dora Dembowski (Jack) and Barbara Dalton of Springfield.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.
