Betty was born September 19, 1938, the middle daughter of the late Ken and Cecile Metcalf. She passed away Friday, September 10, 2011, in her home after a year long illness. Betty was a graduate of Monett High School and the Burge School of Nursing. She retired October 1, 1998, after 20 years as the school nurse for the Greene Valley State School. Betty had been previously employed by the Springfield Greene County Health Department and as the plant nurse at Royal-McBee. It was Betty's wish to be cremated and that no service be held. Memorials are suggested to the Shrine Mosque Preservation Association, 601 St. Louis St., Springfield, MO 65806. Betty served as president of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Ladies in 1997. Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas K. McGuire, Jr. and her son, Kenton J. McGuire and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara (Art) Lindley of Naperville, IL and Mary Jane (John) Elbert of Willard, MO and their families. Betty's cremated remains are at rest in the Brentwood Columbarium at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. RIP.
