Betty F. Dykman died June 27, 2009, in her home, after a sudden illness. She was 86 years of age. She was born February 4, 1923, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Chester and Martha Johnson. Betty married Arnold H. Dykman on January 3, 1943, in Lenexa, Kan. They had been married 57 years when he passed away January 16, 2000. She was a Charter Member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of the Elks Lodge #409 Ladus Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Magers of Morton, Ill., and Judy Deer and husband, Tom of Raymore, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Deer, Mark Magers, Tom Deer II and Jennifer, Emily Magers, Greg Magers and Carmen; four great-grandchildren, Lauryn Deer, Molly Frank, Drew Deer, and Marlee Deer; a brother, Chester Johnson and wife, Carol of Winnebago, Mo.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Pauline Dykman, Loyd and Dorothy Dykman, Wilber and Lorraine Dykman, Clifford Dykman, Nadine and Willis Melgren, and Edward and Carol Dykman; other relatives; a host of friends; and a dear friend, Leon Meyer. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in Prin ce of Peace Church, with Pastor James Branner officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, from 7 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
