Elizabeth "Betty" Adelle Chase, Evangel University's longest-serving employee, died Sunday night. She was 84. Chase was Evangel's director of media relations for three decades before establishing the university's archives in 1988. She retired in 2007 and continued to serve as a volunteer for two more years. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole St. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the recital hall of Evangel's Barnett Fine Arts Center, 1111 N. Glenstone Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to an endowed scholarship account established in her honor at Evangel, 1111 N. Glenstone Ave., Springfield, MO 65802.
