Betty Arbeitman, 82, Springfield, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Mercy Villa. She was born August 19, 1926 in Ava, Missouri the daughter of Dane and Florence Tillman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin. Betty is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Gwen and Wally Hager, Republic; and Laura and Rich Srubas, South Carolina; a brother, Paul Tillman; a brother-in-law, Bill Arbeitman and his wife Edna, all of Springfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mercy Villa for their excellent care of Betty. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 in Temple Israel Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
