Bessie Faye Marshall, 83, of Springfield passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, April 13, 2015 after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born February 15, 1932 in McCool, Mississippi to Melton and Ida Jennings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Orie Lee Jennings, Cecil Jennings, Marvin Jennings, Dorothy Goss, and Rayford Jennings; and a great-grandson Caleb Fann. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd; her brother Charles and his wife Pat of Wills Point, Texas; her daughter Sheila Waln and her husband David of Springfield; her son Ronald Marshall and his wife Patricia of Springfield; her grandchildren, Brian Waln of Springfield; Trisha Hutchison and her husband Justin of Rogersville; Jason Waln and his wife Christa of Springfield; Heather Fann and her husband Jonathan of Republic; and Nikki Hanson of Ozark; and her great-grandchildren Devon and Hannah Hutchison; Hailey and James Hanson; Madison Fann; and Annalise Waln. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, their children, cousins and dear friends. Known as "Mimi" to all who loved her, Bessie was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and wife. She served as a secretary in the Lancaster School District in southern California until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the B.P.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary and played Pinochle with a local club for many years. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made in Bessie's honor to the American Cancer Society, 3322 S.
