IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barry Stephen
Poindexter
July 7, 1950 – May 9, 2022
Barry Poindexter passed away in his home recently. He would have been 72 this next July.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elva Mae Steele Poindexter and Arl W. Poindexter, Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Janice McCaulley of Springfield; nephews Scott McCaulley
(Karen) of Branson, Skipper McCaulley and his children Christian, Matthew, Luke, and Maria Mae, all of Wichita, Ks. He is survived by many cousins and friends! Two cousins stand out during his early adult years, Michael Abbott of San Antonio, TX and Tim Lovett of Springfield. They were his running buddies for several summers. Another cousin, Mike Poindexter, of the Springfield area has kept in touch through the years.
Music and Baseball had always been favorites of Barry. As for music, he worked as a sound technician for bands and music groups in town and on the road for some time.
As for Baseball:
He played on his first team, the Kickapoo Warriors, in 1959.
He started in Kiwanis League and played through High School (Glendale). He also played American Legion summer baseball. Later, when his health permitted, he played softball with friends and family members. In later years he was in construction and management of his properties. We miss him beyond measure but cherish the good times we had as a Family!
