Barbara Lou Brookshire Patterson, age 93, of Springfield, Missouri passed away January 27, 2022.  Barbara was born November 21, 1928, in Springfield, Missouri to Charles Elmer & Martha V. (Russell) Brookshire.  She was raised in Springfield and attended Springfield High School (later Central High) graduating in 1946 where she was a member of the Kilties as a baton twirler.

Barbara married Thomas Eugene (Pat) Patterson, August 13, 1946, and they spent their first year in Germany.  They had 4 children and she later worked in their dental lab, Brookshire Dental Lab, which had been started by her father.

She enjoyed singing (Sweet Adelines), fishing, traveling, bowling, knitting and playing cards.  The family had many fun nights playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters: Betty Howland and Martha Adams and one grandchild, Lindsey Underwood.

She is survived by her children: Linda Wilson (Mike), Chuck Patterson (Cheryl), Larry Patterson and Tom Patterson (Elizabeth). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Jenifer Payne, Ryan Wilson (Jannett), Greg Wilson (Maureen), Justin Patterson (Bethany), Lindsay Loveday (Justin), Jason Dean (Michelle), Kelli Waters, Bethany Asbell (Mark) and Brandy Mahan (Jon).  She is survived by 18 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Springfield National Cemetery.  A visitation will follow from 4-6 PM at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
