Barbara Ruth Livingston was born December 2, 1935 in Chicago, Ill. On July 31, 1954, she married Robert Charles Livingston who survives. She has lived in the Springfield area for 32 years. She was a wonderful person, true lady, and a devoted wife. She loved her friends and neighbors, and especially her animals. She was an excellent seamstress, making her own designer clothes. Barbara also made many quilts and Afghans, which she shared with her friends. She accepted the challenge of cancer with the courage and determination to over come; remaining faithful to her belief that God knows best. She remained happy and cheerful until her "crown" was finished and she couldn't miss the coronation. Barbara left this planet for heaven on December 4, 2009. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood Rd, Springfield, Mo., under direction of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
