Barbara Ann Gray-Massey, 77 of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Turners Rock Care Facility.

She was born April 22, 1946 in Springfield to Theodore J. and Annie Ruth Gray.

Barbara married Lance A. Massey on June 2, 1973.

Barbara graduated from Parkview High School, Missouri State University and Oklahoma University. She won the 1973 International Sterling Staff competition and toured the United States for two years performing recitals on many beautiful pipe organs. She received many accolades and honors for her work. She went on to teach organ at Kansas State University. Barbara was organist and choirmaster for numerous churches in MO, OK, TX, and MI.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lance Massey, and her parents, Theodore and Annie Ruth Gray.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Straw (Chris) of Springfield; nephew, Jonathan Straw (Lynn) of Alexandria, VA and 4 children; niece, Kristin Straw (Michael) of Chicago, IL; and nephew, Daniel Straw of Springfield; and numerous cousins and aunts.

Funeral service is pending in Michigan.
