Barbara A. Gibson, 84 currently of Springfield, Missouri but formerly of Galena, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehab.

Barbara was born on February 23, 1937 in Neosho, Missouri the daughter of the late Joe Rivers and Nola (Hargraves) Richardson.  She was married to Gary Dee Gibson and they had three children.

She later worked at St. Johns in Joplin, Missouri in Human Resources until she retired.

Barbara was a very kind, sweet and quiet person who would do anything she could to help others.  She loved her family and friends very much.  We were so fortunate that God blessed us with such a beautiful person who we loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gary Dee Gibson who loved and adored her; her son, Gary Todd Gibson; her sister, Beverly Richardson; three brothers, Benny, Gerald and Jerry Richardson and her long-time friend, Ed Durbin.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Kathy Dixon; daughter, Pam Hinds and husband, Brett; son, Scott Gibson; seven grandchildren, Morganne Hinds, Garrett (Emma) Hinds, Wyatt Hinds, Krista Gibson, Matthew Adams, Austeen (Darotah) Simpson, and Lauren Gibson; and two great-grandchildren, Tallulah and Wacey.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, Kansas under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, Inc.
