Bert Games Jones, Jr. "B.G.", age 72, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully Saturday, January 2, 2021.  BG was born April 17, 1948 along with his identical twin Bruce in Medford, Massachusetts to Bert and Mary Jones.  The family moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1960 when the "boys" were twelve years old.  BG went to Putnam City High School and graduated in 1967.  BG and Bruce spent hours working on his triumph sports car in their parent's garage.

BG attended 2 years of college at Central State University in Edmond, OK.  His lifelong love of Harley Davidson motorcycles began in 1971 when BG and Bruce sold their high school graduation present (a 1967 Dodge Coronet) to purchase their first Harley.  It was a love affair that never ended.

BG followed his parents to Springfield, MO and finished his degree in 1977.  He taught school in Poplar Bluff, MO throughout 1981 and returned to Springfield.  He worked at the Bike Shop and participated in many bike rides and tours.

In the 90's, he went to work for O'Reilly's and loved working at the West Sunshine store for over 20 years.  He made many great friends while working at O'Reilly's.

He retired in 2018 and all he wanted to do was ride his Harley and meet his friends for breakfast and dinner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Games Jones and his mother, Mary Maturo Jones.  He lost his twin brother, Bruce on December 30, 2018.  He is survived by his sister, Marianne Jones and his beloved cat, named "Cat".

Marianne would like to thank and give credit to her brother BG for teaching her how to drive a column transmission in 1977 and she's sorry she made him eat at $25.00 hamburger in Santa Fe, NM.

There will not be a service at this time. A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
