Avanell (Matthew) Johnson-It is unlikely that Alverta and Ira Matthew (Marionville) knew what a gift they were giving the world on November 26, 1934 with the birth of their daughter, Avanell. For the next 77 years she won the hearts of all who knew her. At the top of that list of devoted admirers: Richard Dean Johnson who she married on March 14, 1954 and shared an incredible love that spanned 58 years! Her list of talents included Antique Aficionado, Ballroom Dancer, Business Administrator, Choir Member, Gardener Extraordinaire, Interior Decorator, PenPal, Philanthropist, Seamstress, Tea Expert, Voracious Reader, & World Traveler. Any time spent with Avanell would quickly reveal the source of her devotion in life; her friends, her family and God. She poured herself into countless individuals who will think of her daily including sister Gale Boswell, daughters: Amy Billings; Caryn Ogle and Sara Guest, nine grandchildren & great-granddaughter namesake Avanell "Nell" Elizabeth.
