IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Audree E.
Irvin
November 5, 1933 – March 9, 2024
Audree Etta (Weatherman) Irvin, 90, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024 at Mercy Hospital-Springfield after a short illness.
Audree was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa in her grandparent's house on November 5, 1933. She grew up in Waterloo, Iowa.
When her parents retired, she moved with them to Aurora, Missouri. A job opportunity took her to Springfield where she met the love of her life Bob Irvin. She and Bob were united in marriage on June 9, 1962. They were married for 53 years.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Bradley and Angela Eden, and David and Andrea Carter.
The great joys of her life were her three grandchildren: Alivia (Brinnan) Sutton, Hunter (Tara) Carter, and Dwight (Kasey) Eden. She was so excited about her new great-grandbaby Sadie Rae Carter born in October.
Audree also is survived by her sister Darlys (Harold) Shelton of Springfield and a brother Neal Weatherman of Mount Vernon along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents Dwight and Helen Weatherman, and a brother Rodney Weatherman.
Audree was a woman of great faith. She spent every day reading Jesus Calling, her daily devotional, and sharing the love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with those whom she felt needed His peace and comfort. She was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church in Springfield.
She had an incredible memory. She could recall times in her life in great detail including the exact outfit and shoes she wore on her first date with Bob in summer 1961.
While much of her married life included being a wife and mother, after the girls were grown, she went to work as a sales clerk. She was a favorite with customers, helping them find the perfect outfit during her time at Newman's Department Store and Heer's Department Store.
She was a friend to many including special friends Jo Granger, Sandra Rush, Mary White, and her roommate Estella McCreary. She was always interested in people's lives and never met a stranger.
Her family wishes to thank those special people at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation who befriended her and took care of her over the past several months and the compassionate staff at Mercy Hospital who did everything in their power to minister to her failing body.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Audree's name to either the Republic High School FCCLA Chapter, 4370 Repmo Drive, Republic, Mo. 65738, or ConnectMyVariant.org , an organization dedicated to helping families with hereditary cancers.
A private graveside service is planned for Wednesday, March 13, in Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield.
