Arthur Lee Tureaud, 60, passed away Friday February 10, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital. Arthur graduated from Central High School in Springfield, MO. He joined the Navy, May 1970 of which he served 4 years. While in the service he was asked to become a Navy Seal of which he declined. Arthur received an Honorable discharge earning a Vietnam and Service medal. The union of Arthur Tureaud and Mary Randolph began summer of 1968. Born of that union were 5 children, Margaret, Vennie, Arthur, Latoya and Antonio who mourn the loss of a loved father who will remain always in their hearts. Once Art returned home he began his welding career later earning his papers as a certified welder. Art traveled all over as a welder from New York to Mexico, etc. Art leaves to mourn him a son, Arthur Lee Tureaud Jr., born via Roberta, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. His siblings and their families: Joe Brown (Jenell), Patricia Starks, Penitia Cross, Ella Tureaud, all of Springfield, MO.; Arzo Tureaud (Angela) of Clarmont, FL; Bobby Brown of New York; Miles McMorris of St. Louis, MO, mourn the loss of their beloved brother. Also in mourning are a host of nieces and nephews along with a very close friend of the family, Ms. Katherine Bronson. A host of family members that preceded him death were mother, Lois (Tureaud) McMorris; father, Lawrence Tureaud; and two brothers, Butch and Savoy Tureaud. Services will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel at noon. Visitation will be held at 11am the same day. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2pm.
