IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arthur David
Eastwood
April 6, 1963 – December 29, 2016
Arthur David Eastwood was born April 6, 1963 and died on December 29, 2016, at the age of 53. He had the gift of imagination and a very lively personality, always ready to share his many stories of diamonds, gold, and extensive travels, including outer space. He spent endless hours studying science and math, attempting to gain enough knowledge to build a time machine. He loved playing Dungeons and Dragons, attending weekly game nights and conventions.
In his final moments, Arthur David said a spaceship had come and wanted him to go with them to the Andromeda Galaxy. He was encouraged to board the ship to begin his mission and has joined his sister, Nancy Eastwood, father Robert Eastwood, and step-father, Albert Simpson, in the afterlife. His sense of humor, stories, kindness and gentle soul will be missed but never forgotten. At his request, a part of him will live on through his donation of cornea, bone and tissue.
He is survived by his mother, Kay Simpson, brother Garrick Eastwood (Gloria), sisters Linda Eastwood Zander, Karen Eastwood Dillon (Bob), Jeanie Eastwood, Kathleen Eastwood, step-brother Dan Simpson, nephew Thomas Umphres (Jennifer), nieces Karissa Umphres Ostroski (Cory), Kaylea Eells Gagliardi (Manny), Kay Brinkopf Weaver (Melanie), Kristen Mardoyan Fischer (Gabe), Amanda Brinkopf and Kaila Mardoyan, and 2 close friends, Randy Burmeister and Curtis Jones.
Arthur David was diagnosed in his late teens with Schizoaffective Disorder. Many times he experienced bullying, harassment, and mental and physical abuse. More quality group homes, independent living programs and educational classes are needed for the mentally ill. Any donations in his name should be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 1443 N. Robberson Ave, Suite 408, Springfield, MO 65802. No services are planned.
