Arron Wilson Phillips On July 17, 2009 Arron Wilson Phillips, senior pastor and co-founder of Abundant Life Covenant Church, peacefully transitioned from his physical body to his spiritual body as he lie sleeping. Wilson was born September 25, 1928 to Raymond and Mary Eva (Webb) Phillips in Excelsior, MO. He married Patricia Buckallew on January 29, 1949 in Centerville, IA. To this union three children were born - Stephen, Beverly, and Timothy. In 1967 Wilson was called to the ministry and left his successful career in management with the Union Pacific Railroad. After receiving his degree at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, he led churches in Sedalia and Republic. In 1983 Wilson and Patricia co-founded Abundant Life Ministries. Located on the Springfield Square, Abundant Life Covenant Church has been a vital part of the Downtown Community. Wilson spoke positive words of wisdom to everyone. He encouraged and inspired many with his spiritual conviction that "The best is yet to come". He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray, Gale, and Herschel; and sisters, Joanne Poindexter and Mary Kelley. Wilson Phillips is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; their children and spouses, Stephen and Sally Phillips of Houston, TX, Beverly and Walt Dimmitt of Port Huron, MI, and Timothy and Phyllis Phillips of Springfield, MO; siblings, Dorothy Louise Burch, Marjorie Heath, and Ed Phillips; and sisters-in-law, Vernadine and Marjorie Phillips. He leaves behind a church family who loved and appreciated him more than words can express. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00-8:00P at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
