Arnold R. Smith (Rusty), 89, passed away at home in Springfield, MO on April 13, 2017. Rusty was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on February 3, 1928.

He married Sandra Dorsey on February 14, 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  They enjoyed 40 years together.

Rusty served in the Navy as an Aviation Machinist's mate second from 1950-1954. He served in the New Mexico Air National Guard for 20 years retiring as a Technical Sergeant in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 26, 1988. He retired from General Electric in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a Quality Engineer working on aircraft engines. He moved to Warsaw Missouri with his wife Sandra to enjoy their retirement years.

Rusty's hobbies included reading, fishing, leather work, wood working and playing his guitar, sharing his gift of singing with his family, friends and local nursing homes.

Rusty is preceded in death by his parents Claire Marilyn LeBlanc and Edward Arthur Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Smith; brother Jim Smith and wife Marie; daughter Amy Simonson, grandsons Jake and Colby; son Kevin Dorsey and wife Stacy, grandson T.J. and granddaughter Tara; daughter Jodie and husband Jon Wersinger and granddaughters Jordan and Jadyn; and daughter Julie and husband David Wood, grandsons Ryan and Cooper; many other nieces, nephews and friends from all over.
