Obituary

Arnold W. Bader Youngest son of Paul Bader and Mary Beeker passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home in Springfield Mo., after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Relenia; his parents, and his siblings. He is survived by his children, Sandra Bader, Arnie (Debby),Jerry (Carol), Wayne (Cherry), Tammy Bader (Tim McDonald),all of Springfield,David (Susan),of Dallas Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Born in Kinney Heights, Kansas, his family moved to Marshfield, Missouri and eventually to Springfield where he started his family with the young girl he spotted while delivering milk. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II. After a career in accounting he retired and continued his accounting services by preparing tax returns for numerous clients. And just to prove that you really can teach an old dog new tricks -- he bought a computer and became a fan of technology. He was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. An avid sports fan, he had great fondness for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Bader family wishes to extend great thanks to Seasons Hospice for their help in Arnold's final months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kitchen Inc. of Springfield or to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rosary service in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home 6 p.m., Tuesday followed by visitation. Funeral Mass 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 8th in Holy Trinity. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
