Anthony "Del" D'Alessandro, 87, of Springfield passed away July 2nd, in Springfield. He was born December 2, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Antonio and Rosaria Belusso D'Alessandro. He graduated from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn. He married the love of his life Gloria Barra on September 24, 1949. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years together. He moved to MO in 1966 and worked for the 3M Company until retiring in 1991. He also owned and operated Del-Mar resort on Lake Taneycomo until 1974 when he moved to Springfield. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Maryann; two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Lorraine D'Alessandro; several nieces and nephews including Vincent, Al and wife Loretta; friends, Steve and Stephanie Grant, Sam DiGiacinto, Dr. Ralph Duda and wife Joanne and Dr. Paul Ancheta and wife Remy.
"He never new a stranger. Everyone was his friend."
He had a special enjoyment and passion for growing his fig trees, originally from Italy, in his backyard.
Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Fr. Tom Kiefer celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
