Anna Dondene Singleton, 86, of Springfield passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009. She was born in Manhattan, Kansas on April 1, 1923 to Marion and Harriette Reighley. She graduated from Junction City High School. On April 11, 1941 she married Charles L. Singleton with whom she recently celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage. They have resided in Springfield, MO since 1954. Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a talented seamstress and an avid fisher but her favorite hobby was traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Ted Singleton. She is survived by her husband Charles, two daughters, Anne Cox and husband Bill Compere of Springfield, MO, Harriette Singleton Fields and husband Tom of Frederick, CO, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 1 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Buddy Horn officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
