Anna Marie Schibler, 91, of Springfield passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Manor at Elfindale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers John Schibler, Barney Schibler, Rudy Schibler and Martin Schibler; also by sisters Mildred Schibler, Martha Schibler, Margaret (Schibler) Armstrong and Ruth (Schibler) Schultz. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Schibler along with dozens of nieces and nephews. Anna was born August 2, 1921 in Springfield, Missouri to John A. and Frieda Schibler. She was a 1939 graduate of St. Agnes High School in Springfield, Missouri, a lifelong member of St. Agnes Cathedral and lived here all her life except for a short period in Kansas City. She was a volunteer at O'Reilly General Hospital during WWII. She later worked at the Social Security office in Springfield for many years before retiring. She got her first driver's license shortly before she retired and a whole new world opened up for her. Anna was fun-loving, strong-willed and will be missed by her family and many friends. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Manor at Elfindale for their excellent care and affection for Anna these last years. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 in St. Agnes Cathedral, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 p.m., under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crosslines, 1710 East Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, Missouri 65802.
