Ann L. Fisher Burgin, age 68, of Springfield, MO, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Cox Medical Center. Born in Springfield December 20, 1945 to William F. Barnes and Roberta J. St. Clair, Ann attended Hickory Hills and graduated from Central High School. She then studied at Colorado Women's College in Denver. In 1969, Ann moved to Kansas City where she would raise her three children. As a young lady, Ann was an accomplished equestrian, ballet dancer and golfer. She is remembered as creative, compassionate and a lover of all animals. She was an amazing cook and always knew exactly how to make your favorite meal. She was gentle, warm and loved. She is survived by her children, Robert D.C. Shapiro of Northern California, Cathy Waldo and Wendy Anderson, both of Kansas City; four grandsons, Byers and Mitchell Waldo and Eamonn and Gabriel Anderson, all of Kansas City; her brother, Bradley Fisher and sister, Melinda Fisher. A private family service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. The family gives special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Cox South.
