Amberline Keeling LeCompte of Springfield passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 in her home.

She was born June 26, 1921 in St. Joe, AR, the daughter of Leonard Jackson and Jennie (Stephenson) Keeling.

Amberline graduated high school in Bruno, AR and completed her RN training in 1945 from St. John's in Springfield, where she worked for many years.  During the polio epidemic in the late 40's and early 50's, she traveled to Dallas, TX and St. Louis, MO working with children as a nurse.  Amberline also worked for dermatologists Dr. Wooldridge and Dr. Lorenc.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John "Jack" LeCompte; two brothers Leonard Jackson Keeling, Jr. and Joe E. Keeling; and one step-son Charles LeCompte.

She is survived by sisters Lucile Horton, Marshall, AR and Carol Thomas and husband Ronald, St. Joe, AR; step-son John LeCompte; granddaughter Sandra LeCompte-Baskins and husband Jeff and their son Jackson; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to a great-niece Crystal Shore for her loving care during Amberline's last days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
