Amanda Eliane Herzog Carter died in Springfield, Missouri, on December 8, 2020. She was a wife and daughter, a bright young woman, an avid reader, and a fabulous cook. Amanda was born in Cape Girardeau on July 31, 1984. Her many adventures brought her through Mexico, Belize, Colorado, Wisconsin, and ultimately back to Missouri, her home state. She was a fierce lover of all animals, great and small. Amanda is preceded in death by her adoptive father, Bob Herzog, and her biological father, Robert Van Winkle, her grandparents, Henry and Opal Irene Jordan, Lex and Emily Roth, and Raymond and Augusta Herzog. Amanda is survived by her husband, Richard Carter.  Richard and Amanda were married on June 9, 2005 and celebrated fifteen years of marriage this year. Amanda is survived by her mother, Betty Herzog, her sister, Hannah Herzog, and her brothers, Jesse and Philip Herzog, and Kenneth Van Winkle. Amanda was a gift to her family and will be dearly missed.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Grace Chapel Church, 1120 East Farm Road 182, Springfield, MO 65810.
