Allan L. Ware, Jr. was called to heaven on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 in Springfield, MO after battling MS for more than 40 years. He was born October 16, 1952 in Barnhart, MO to Allan L. Ware, Sr. and Lillian (Runge) Ware. Al was a true family man dedicated to his two daughters, Jennifer and Sara. His brother, Randy Lee passed at the age of 61 in 2018.

A graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia with a degree in Forestry, Al was employed as a logging agent for various Midwest lumber companies for more than 40 years. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church in Springfield, MO. In his youth, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with his friends.

Al is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Terry Necessary-Ware, daughters Dr. Jennifer Hawkins (James) and their children Jude Allan Hawkins and Maryn Rae Hawkins of Columbia, MO and Sara Ferguson and her children Bella Grace Ferguson and William Noah Ferguson of Hutto, TX.

The following heartfelt words were written by our oldest daughter, Jennifer, describing how she feels about her father. I wanted to include her thoughts and share them with you all. I am sure these words will touch your heart as they have mine.

“Dad was the calm in the storm – the steady, down to earth voice you could always turn to when the world around you seemed to be collapsing. He had a way of making things feel manageable, of helping you slow down and see that whatever was happening could be faced one step at a time. He was a source of comfort, wisdom, and quiet strength to the people who loved him. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.”

Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2026 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, September 29 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society of Springfield, MO.
